Disclaimer:
National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) guidance states that "Division of ankyloglossia (tongue-tie) for breastfeeding should only be performed by registered healthcare professionals who are properly trained"
LCGB, the professional support organisation for IBCLCs in Great Britain, recognises NICE guidance as the standard to which good practice should be benchmarked. Neither NICE nor LCGB have power to regulate who provides a frenulotomy service and therefore can only advise those seeking a tongue tie practitioner to check that person is a suitably trained registered health care professional and has appropriate professional indemnity insurance.
LCGB has asked all practitioners who advertise on this site for proof of health professional registration and insurance cover but takes no responsibility for individual professional practice.
You can check the health professional registration status of individuals on the following websites:

LCGB Questionnaire
LCGB is a voice for the Infant Feeding community to share what is happening in our locality regarding the Protection, Promotion and Support of breastfeeding. This can give us a picture of what is happening across the country; particularly pertinent in view of the changes that many trusts and Local Authorites are experiencing at present.

At the last LCGB ameeting in September it was decided to send all members a simple questionnaire so we gather information and views from as many of you as possible.

I would be very grateful if you could look at the attached questionnaire and return it to me.

Many thanks for you help and co-operation. I hope to be able to write a report on the responses early in the New Year.
